Khandala

Location : Located in the north-east of India, Tripura is surrounded on north, west and south by Bangladesh. To the east it borders with Mizoram and Assam.
Climate condition : Khandala experiences mild climate. Summers are temperate and winters are a bit colder. In monsoons (June-September) it gets heavy rainfall.
Best time to visit : October - May.

Thing to do
The most favourite hill resort of Mumbaikkar, Khandala with its affluent natural surrounding has plenty to offer to persons in want of fine escape from the intense boredom of city life. Eco activities like enjoying picnic and water excursion at many of its panoramic lakes, trekking, viewing beautiful peaks, green valleys, scenic waterfalls and exploration of rock-cut caves constitute the prime excursion at Khandala.

Places of Interests
Rajmachi Park : This beautiful garden marks the beginning of The Ghat. That is why its beautiful natural surroundings attract hordes of tourist. Lying at the Mumbai-Lonavla way, the park area has also a children park, often crowded by family and children. The two towers of Rajmachi fort is seen from here.

Duke's Nose : Named after Duke Wellington this popular cliff looks like hood of a snake. Set in the beautiful surrounding, hanging out near this cliff form a fine pleasure.

Kune Falls : Lying between Khandala and Lonavla, Kune falls roll down from more than 100 meters of height. Flowing through the valley, the falls make a very pleasant location for enjoy bathing.

Tiger's Leap : Finding a special importance among all sightseeing locations of Khandala, Tiger's Leap is must visit venue. Looking carefully the valley similes tiger's leaping into the valley. The leap gives a very beautiful view of the whole valley.

Sakur Plateau : At the height of 1,000 ft, Sakur Plateau is thickly occupied by dense forests. Taking a nature walk is fine exploration of abundant of greenery. Poplar forts of Ungi, Korigad and Lohagad are very close from here.

Karla Hills : The beautiful hill popular for its beauty of natural milieu provides fine opportunity trekkers to try their hand at adventurous recreation.

Reaching There
By Air : Mumbai International Airport (110 km) and Pune Domestic Airport (66 km) are very well connected to all major international and national airports, respectively. Reaching Khandala from these two location is quite comfortable via Mumbai-Pune express highway.

By Rail : Lonavla lying on main rail line between Mumbai-Pune is the nearest railhead from Khandala.

By Road : From both Mumbai and Pune, Khandala is very well connected. Three hours of smooth drive on Mumbai-Pune highway lead you to Khandala.
