India which is known as the “land of unity in diversity” has a good population of tribal people. Approximately 68 million people of India belongs to tribal community. Some states of India like Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, and North-East India constitutes great number of tribal population. Incredible seven sisters of North-East India that includes Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Tripura and Mizoram are home to the countless indigenous tribal communities. These tribal communities are famous for their distinct culture and tradition, diverse language, unique cuisines, handwoven dress and handicrafts. Some of the prominent tribes of the North-East India includes Adi, Apatami, Galo, Nishi, Khamti, Nagas, Khasis, Jaintias, Mizos, Boros, Kokborok, Reang and Cacharis.

Detailed Itinerary
(From day 1 to 5 )
Our tour will begin from Delhi. At first we will board on a connecting flight from Delhi to Guwahati. On arrival to Guwahati Airport, we will directly transfer to Itanagar (state capital to Aurunachal Pradesh). From next day morning(2nd day) we will initiate our sight seeing activity in Arunachal Pradesh. We will visit the museum, emporium and local market in Itanagar town. After having the lunch, we will enjoy a drive to Bomdila which is famous for Sela lake. After visiting Sela lake we will return to Itanagar hotel for dinner and an overnight stay. On 3rd day morning after breakfast we will drive to Ziro, which is the district headquarter of lower Sabunsiri district of Arunachal Pradesh. It is surrounded by the Apatani tribal villages.

Next day morning (4th day) we will take you to the Daporijo, via the Apatani villages. Daporijo, district headquarter of the Upper Subansri district of Arunachal Pradesh, is inhabited by Tagin tribe. In the meantime, we will also visit the Hillmiri tribal villages located at Raga. And on the 5th day, we will start our journey from Doporijo. We will first usher you to the West Saing district headquarter of Arunachal Pradesh, which is situated at an altitude of 300 meters. Here we will get to see the hanging bridge on River Siang which is quite attractive. This bridge is made up of cane and bamboo and is about 60-70 meters long. It is the main source of connection between different hill tribes.

(From 6th day to 10th day)
On 6th day, we will usher you to Pasighat, District headquarter of the East Siang District of Arunachal Pradesh. It is located at a height of 150 meters. The main inhabitants of the region includes the Adi (minyong) tribe. In the interim, you can also visit the Pangin tribal villages, located along River Siang. This area is perfect for pursuing different adventure sports like trekking, river rafting and angling. In the meantime we can also visit the Pangin tribal villages located on the bank of the river Siang. This region is perfect for various adventurous sports like trekking, river rafting and angling. So, get ready to indulge yourself in these adventurous sports. In the evening we will come back to the Pasighat hotel for dinner comprise of popular tribal cuisines of the region.

On day 7th from Pasighat we will start our journey for two major towns of Assam namely Dibrugarh and Jorhat. To reach Dibrugarh, we will hire a country made ferry which will help us to cross the mighty river Brahamaputra. It will take almost 5-6 hours to reach Dibrugarh. It is famously known as the “Tea city of India”. This town has numerous tea gardens dated back to the British era. After Dibrugarh, we will proceed towards another Upper Assam town i.e Jorhat. Here we will make an overnight stay.

Next day morning i.e on 8th day we will enter to another tribal state of North East India, Nagaland through Mokokchung. This place is famous for its hills, valleys and Ungma village. This village is believed to be one of the oldest villages of India. It is a major tourist spot due to its Ao folklore , customs and traditions. After spending a whole day in this ancient village, we will move towards Kohima (state capital of Nagaland) on 9th day of our tour. The major attraction of Kohima are Kohima village , Khonoma village, World War II cemetery, emporium, State museum, and the local market. Kohima village is designated as one of the most populated tribal villages in Asia. To visit all the tourists spot and to witness the lifestyle of Angamis and Rengma tribal community, we will stay here on 10th day also.

(From day 11 to 13)
On 11th day, from Kohima we will proceed towards Dimapur, another major town of Nagaland. It take almost 3 hours to reach Dimapur from Kohima. Dimapur is a semi-hilly town and famous for its Foreign market. After visiting Dimapur, we will return to Kohima for an overnight stay. On 12th day, we will travel to Tezpur from Kohima , a town in Assam. On reaching Tezpur, we will resort to a known hotel for an overnight stay. Next morning i.e on 13th day, the last day of our tour we will proceed towards Guwahati to catch the connecting flight to Delhi.
