Plan a trip to Orissa and explore the unique and distinct cultural identity of the various ancient tribal communities of this tribal highland. Orissa, a lush green state, which is fringed by the Bay of Bengal from east direction has a total number of 62 tribal communities. These tribal communities are still untouched by the shadow of the urbanization. Some of the prominent tribal communities of Orissa are Santals, Mundas, Ho, Gonds, Juang, Bhuyan, Bonda, Saura, Dhruba, Koya, Mahali, Lohara, Paraja, Dongria kondhs, Desai kondh, Huttiya Kondh etc. These communities inhabits in the remotest area of the deep forest or hilly interiors. The colorful weekly tribal markets serve as the meeting place for all these tribal communities. Here, they can either sell and purchase stuffs that are essential part of their livelihood. Tribal people has a great sense of rhythm which is evident from their colorful dance and music. So, don't miss it.

Detailed Itinerary
(From day1 to day5)
Our trip to Orissa, a tribal land will begin from Bhubaneshwar. On the day 1 of our trip we will board on a domestic flight to Bhubaneshwar from Delhi. After reaching Bhubaneshwar , check-in to the hotel which we have already booked for you in advance. After some refreshment at the hotel's restaurant we will take you to a half-day tour of the city. In the evening return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay. On the 2nd day, we will proceed to Ratna Giri from Bhubaneshwar. After a full day excursion of Ratnagiri return to the Bhubaneshwar Hotel for dinner and night stay. Our next destination will be Baliguda. This place is the taluk headquarter of Phulbani district. Here you can witness beautiful countryside road with small mountains of Sal forest and typical Orissa villages. In the evening we will reach Baliguda. Resort to the hotel for an overnight stay. Next morning i.e on 4th day of our trip, after completion of the breakfast we will usher you to the nearby tribal villages like Desai Kondh tribal village. If you want you can have your lunch in one of the tribal villages. In the evening we will come back to our hotel at Baliguda for dinner and night stay.

Next morning, we will depart to Belghar area. This area is known as the home to the Huttiya Kondha Tribal community. Here you can have insight view on the distinct lifestyle of this tribal community. Thereafter, we will visit the colorful weekly market of the tribal people at Kothagargh. From here we will proceed to explore the villages of the ancient Kutia kondh Tribes. This community is famous for “maria” or human sacrifice. These tribal people are friendly in nature and resides in the deep core forest or in the mountains. This area is also a nice option for short trekking. We will have your lunch on the way to the Rayagada, our next destination. On reaching Raygada, check-in to the hotel for the dinner and night stay.

(From day 6th to day 10th)
Next day i.e on 6th day we will proceed to Chatikona, 40 km from Rayagada to witness the interesting and colorful weekly market of the Dongaria kondh tribes. On every Wednesday these tribal people comes down from the Niayamgiri hill range to sell and purchase various stuffs which are necessary for their livelihood. This weekly market is a great option to witness this tribal community in their true form. After exploring the market we will move toward Jeypore for night stay. Next morning (on 7th day), get ready to visit Ankadelli. Located 70 km from Jeypore, Ankadelli is famous for the most primeval, interesting and unique tribal weekly market of the Bonda tribes. It is surrounded by picturesque waterfall, mountains and forests. We will make arrangement so that you can click snaps of Bonda man & woman in their real attire. This tribal community is also known as the Nakate tribes of the mountain. The woman prefer to decorate their body with silver and brass rings around the neck, hundred of necklaces on the body and minimal clothes.

After lunch we will take you to the Lamtaput area to view another primitive tribal community the Gdabas. Here you can watch the colorful tribal dance performed by this community called DEMSA. Late afternoon we will drive back to Jeypore for dinner and an overnight stay.

On day 8th we will proceed towards the region of Sanaparoja and Mali tribes at Kunduli, 65 km from Jeypore via Sunabeda. This place is famous for biggest and colorful tribal market. Later we will drive down to Nandapur to visit tribal village of Sanaparoja community. Afterwards we will come back to Jeypore hotel. Next morning(on 9th day) after breakfast, we will guide you to the Laxmipur and Jagannath Temple and Tribal Museum at Koraput. We will have our lunch on the way to the Rayagada. We will check-in to the hotel for only one night. On day 10th of our tour we will proceed towards Chilka to visit Chilka lake bird sanctuary. It is a brackish water coastal lake which harbors 150 species of migratory birds. En- route to Chilka we will take a short halt at Taptapani. In Chilka we will resort to a hotel for diner and night stay.

(From 11 th day to 13th day)
Next day i.e on 11th day get ready to visit Puri, the coastal town of Orissa and home of Lord Jagnnath . On reaching Puri, check-in to the hotel and enjoy the cool breeze at the Puri sea beach. On day 12, we will escort you to the renowned Jagnnath and Konark temple of Puri. You can even shop some souvenirs from beach side as the memoir of this trip. Afterwards return to the hotel and pack your luggage. Next day after breakfast at the hotel, we will drive down to Bhubaneshwar Airport to board on the connecting flight for Delhi.
